Egypt and France Partner to Establish a World-Class Cancer Treatment Center and Enhance Healthcare Services
Egypt and France have signed new medical cooperation agreements to establish a world-class cancer treatment center in Cairo, in partnership with the French Gustave Roussy Institute. Learn more about the impact on Egypt’s healthcare system.
As part of Egypt’s national strategy to develop its healthcare system and deliver world-class medical services, the Ministries of Health, International Cooperation, and Economy in Egypt and France announced the signing of four strategic agreements in the field of healthcare.
The highlight of these agreements is the launch of a world-class cancer treatment center in Cairo, licensed by the renowned Gustave Roussy Institute in France — one of the leading cancer treatment institutions globally. The agreement was signed by Dr. Tarek Moharram, CEO of one of Egypt’s top healthcare companies, and Professor Fabrice Barlesi, CEO of the Gustave Roussy Institute.
In conjunction with this cooperation, French Minister of Health Dr. Catherine Vautrin paid an official visit to Egypt. She was accompanied by Egypt’s Minister of Health Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar on an inspection tour of Nasser Institute and 57357 Hospital, aimed at exploring Egypt’s advanced healthcare models and discussing opportunities for experience exchange.
Meanwhile, Egypt’s General Authority for Healthcare announced that it has delivered over 12 million medical and therapeutic services through five fully integrated medical complexes across the governorates applying the Universal Health Insurance System, reflecting the rapid development and operational excellence in Egypt’s healthcare infrastructure.
