Paraphilia (Atypical Sexual Preference Disorder)
Paraphilia refers to patterns of sexual arousal or preference that are unconventional, abnormal, and unacceptable in both form and content, and may include practices that are harmful to health.
It is important to distinguish between a simple, uncommon preference and a disorder that requires professional intervention.
Characteristics of Paraphilia:
• Recurrent, persistent, and intrusive thoughts or fantasies
• Arousal associated with atypical elements (situations/objects/roles)
• Difficulty controlling impulses or behaviors
• Feelings of psychological distress or conflict with personal and societal values
• In some cases, it may affect relationships or daily functioning
When does it become a disorder?
When these preferences cause significant suffering for the individual, or lead to psychological or social harm to themselves or others, paraphilia is not merely a deviation, but a complex psychological pattern requiring careful understanding. The difference between a difference and a disorder is always the impact and the harm. Paraphilia is the product of a complex pattern of dysfunctional upbringing. With a paraphilic individual, we need to reconcile with their inner self to achieve inner healing, followed by cognitive reconstruction to reconcile with society. The paraphilic individual suffers less from their own behaviors than from the fear and rejection they experience from society, and from the inability to find someone who meets their needs.
This results in increased anxiety, fear, and instability in relationships due to feelings of shame and rejection.
1- Cognitive behavioral therapy is a fundamental pillar for rebuilding the inner self and reducing the risk of deviant behaviors in individuals with this disorder.
2- In addition to self-restraint from various addictive practices.

7- Learning calming techniques through exercise, yoga, and breathing exercises
8- Engaging in artistic activities to uplift the spirit
With faith and certainty in the ability to make positive changes...
