Thoughts by Dr. Essam Hassan
Why is mineral balance important?
Why do we emphasize specific analyses for heavy metals in our protocol, and why have we been doing this for many years in conjunction with sensory-neurotherapy rehabilitation? This is to achieve biological balance on the one hand, and to improve brain function on the other.
Adapted from a research paper I wrote:
Toxic Metals and Their Effect on the Brain.
The Effect of Metal Accumulation in the Brain
The accumulation of aluminum, lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury leads to:
1- Mitochondrial damage.
2- Disruption of frontal neural circuits.
3- Impaired attention and language.
4- Sleep and behavioral disturbances.
5- Vestibular and cerebellar dysfunction.
The accumulation of these metals and their failure to be chelated will lead to:
Impaired responsiveness of the child to sensory and language protocols.
Metals and Autism and ADHD.
Why is mineral assessment important in autism and ADHD?
Answer:
Because these disorders have a neuro-electrochemical basis, they depend largely on mineral ratios.
Adjusting these ratios leads to:
1. Improved attention and behavior within weeks.
2. Enhanced sensory responses.
3. Improved sleep and anxiety management.
4. Support for memory and language.
5. Enhanced results of meridian acupuncture and therapeutic massage.
May God heal our children.
